Recommended AutoCAD Training Books
There is an almost overwhelming collection of books on the subject of AutoCAD, and in no way do i claim to be familiar with all of them. I do however know what has been useful to me. Below is a list of some of the books, and authors that have helped me along the way.
When people start shopping for their first CAD book they are usually hit with sticker shock as a good book on the subject of AutoCAD will typically run you between $40.00 to $60.00. This must be looked at as an investment in yourself, and what better thing to invest in. I can and will make some recommendations, but is is important to find an author whose writing style speaks to you, as well as finding a book with a visual layout that suits your learning style. The size of these books can be daunting with most of the comprehensive books on this subject being well over 1000 pages, but remember that these are reference manuals, and you don't necessarily have to read them cover to cover to start seeing the benefits of owning one. These days it can be a real challenge to actually buy a book at a book store. The real selection is from an online source. There are a lot of places on the web to buy a book these days, but Amazon is always a good place to start. Amazon has a feature called "Look inside" that allows you to preview the book before purchasing it. Another feature to look for in an AutoCAD reference book is whether or not it comes with a media option that allows you to read the book on your PC, tablet, or smart phone. I have always found this to be a very useful tool as there is usually built in navigation including a search function to help you locate the material.
So take a look at the links below (The tittles below the books are clickable links), and do some research on your own, and make an investment in yourself.
( I am in no way affiliated with the authors of the suggested books, nor do i receive any commission on sales of these books. My sole intention is to recommend materials that i have found useful in my own AutoCAD education.)
